Beautiful 1987 distressed mohair OOAK by Kathleen Wallace Stier Bears 21" white

Description: A beautiful and rare, hard to find item indeed. This is a authentic gorgeous distressed mohair style OOAK bear made by well known teddy bear artist (now deceased) Kathleen Wallace originally from Pennsylvania. Her business name was called Stier Bears. She was a very popular teddy bear artist back in the 1980s and 1990s when she attended many of the well known teddy bear shows and conventions, especially in the northeast. She and her husband Jim were fun people to be with at the shows. This is a distressed style teddy bear meaning it was purposely made to look old and antique like but used new materials. The white mohair has purposely made bare spot areas and a few stitched areas where a purposely made hole has been repaired. There is a non-functioning growler inside as you can hear something rattle when you turn the bear upside down but it no longer makes that unique growling or mooing sound. Bear is 21 inches tall when standing. Fully jointed and has an old silk ribbon. See photos for details. Has the artist tush tag with "Stier Bears 1987" on it. It does not have a hang tag since it wasn't purchased at a show. It was purchased directly from Kathleen at her home by my aunt who was a good friend of hers and also a bear collector. My aunt would visit Kathy and Jim at their home from time to time as well as see them at the shows. My aunt gave it to me prior to her moving to an assisted living home about 15 years ago, and has now herself passed away. I am starting to downsize and I hate to part with any of my bears but I am running out of display space so looking for a good and loving new home for this cutie. From a smoke free, pet free home.
