Description: The childlike imp from the fifth dimension, Bat-Mite, made his first appearance in Detective Comics #267 (May 1959) in a story titled "Batman Meets Bat-Mite". From his conception, he has existed as an inter-dimensional admirer of the Dark Knight. He was created by Bill Finger and appeared regularly in issues from 1959-1964 until he, along with others, was retired from comics. Since then he has appeared sparingly in a few stories but is largely considered not canon in the Bat-verse. Presented here is a perfect recreation of the imp nuisance from the pages of the Silver Age comics in a hand painted cold-cast bust. This bust was sculpted by William Paquet for DC Direct and produced in 2001. It is a limited edition of only 1500 units worldwide. Bust is in mint condition and has no faults or defects to it. Like nearly all my collection, it has never been displayed and has remained packed away for years. It measures approximately 5 3/4" tall x 5 1/2" deep with a base diameter of 4 3/8". It comes with the original box which is excellent condition. Also comes with Certificate of Authenticity #990/1500
