Description: Old shorebird in weathered condition by Lou Barkelow (1875-1960) of Forked River New Jersey. It was a hunting decoy but after shorebird hunting was outlawed, converted to a decorative mantel piece. Great look on this old bird which has a tail chip and wire legs mounted on a wooden base.
