Description: This is an auction for a scarce book "Bad Seed” a play written by Maxwell Anderson and published by Dodd Mead of New York in 1955. Fireside Side Theater book club edition. Maxwell Anderson’s play based upon the novel by William March and the basis of the 1956 suspense thriller film of the same name. Both the play and film starred Nancy Kelly, Patty McMormack, Henry Jones and Eileen Heckart. The film version was nominated for three Academy Awards. Scarce in hardcover with dustjacket. A good green hardback in a good dustjacket. The book has evidence [closed hole] of bookplate removal on the free front end. The dustjacket has some fade to spine and paper loss to top and bottom edge of spine affecting the authors name, a small chip out of lower edge of rear panel. The dustjacket is now protected in an archival mylar cover. Sold as is. Laid in is Fireside Theater flyer for the play. Both the flyer and the book have b/w photos from the play. Book measures 5.5 by 8.5 inches, 96 pages. The book itself has no names, no underlining, no stains and comes from a smoke free environment. This book is NOT an ex-library copy.
