Description: This authentic antique dress is made of pure silk and features a panel of velvet at the bottom. The gown is a shift style cut on the bias and has unique paneling. The sleeves start with excess fabric forming a puff along the upper arm that stops just above the elbow and continues with a tight sleeve that secures with a snap on the cuff. Another unique feature is the braided white and black silk along the neckline which gives the appearance of a scarf as it drapes down the front. This lovely unique piece is in good antique condition with some holes along the seems of the silk. There are also two snaps on the front of the bodice that seem to have had a purpose at one time but unfortunately the attachable piece did not come to us with the gown.
