Description: This is a great medal commemorating the air force of Austria. On the front is a great scene of an Etrich Taube monoplane soaring over cultivated fields, the rising sun of a new era on the horizon. This was nicely sculpted by Gustav Gurschner, with his last name near the bottom edge. The other side has the Austrian coat of arms – the double headed eagle holding a sword and royal orb. This fine piece is 2 9/16” across. I do not know what metal this is. For condition, please closely study the pics, using the “zoom” feature. The closest color is that seen in the scan pics.
