The base is partially cut and polished and is abutted by a natural area. There is a small shaft surface on four sides between the facets and the base. This marvelous crystal sits 2 1/2" high, spans 3 1/2" by 3 1/4" at the base and weighs one pound, one ounce. Auralite-23 is primarily an amethyst crystal with structured layers of chevron growth from a private mine deep within the Boreal Forest in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Within this crystalline family of amethyst crystals, scientists have identified 23 earth elements and minerals. The average crystal contains 17 of the following: Titanite, Cacoxenite, Lepidocrosite, Ajoite, Hematite, Magnetite, Pyrite, Geothite, Pyrolusite, Gold, Silver, Platinum, Nickel, Copper, Limonite, Iron, Shpalerite, Covellite, Chalcopyrite, Gilalite, Epidote, Bronite, and Rutile.
