This is a halftone print from Photograms of the Year 1952, the annual publication of the world's photographic art. Vincenzo Balocchi (1892-1975) was the Florentine engineer-artist who directed Florence-based photographic firm Fratelli Alinari for years (he mostly worked with photo-mechanical reproduction between 1921 and 1930.) In 1928, Balocchi founded the Istituto Fotocromo Italiano, which specialized until the 1980's in collotype for beautiful art editions (now supplanted by more technological and sophisticated printing techniques.) Each item is delivered in an archival sleeve and hard backed envelope. Happy to combine postage.
