The AMT4001, mil spec M22520/40-01, crimp tool is designed for crimping the popular AS7928 (Mil-T-7928/MS25036 Series) Ring Terminals, Splices, and End Caps, 14AWG through 26AWG. The introduction of this tool is the result of a DOD sponsored project to standardize the legacy Class 2 crimp tool to Class 1 status by the issuance of MIL-DTL-22520/40 Crimp Tool Standard. These manually operated crimp tools accept all manufactures Class 1 terminations (and most Class 2 parts also). Extensive testing and development has taken place to provide the best possible tool performance. The tools provide a reliable ratchet controlled mechanism to ensure full crimp force/closure is applied. The handles will not open until they have been fully closed and the crimp completed. The tools are equipped with a locator to hold terminals and splices in place for crimping. The length and weight are 10 3/4 inches long, and 1.48 lbs.
