Here we have a poster issued in 2020 National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by the DEOMI, which is also referred to as "Asian American, Pacific Islander Heritage Month". This is one of a yearly observance poster commencing in 2002 and officially issued by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute. For most years, the posters were left undated so that they could be used for any subsequent year. The theme for 2020 was "Honoring The Past, Securing The Future" and this version featured Domingo Espinas Los Baños, Jr., one of the 50 “Hawaii boys,” assigned to the U.S. Army’s famed 1st Filipino Infantry Regiment. Behind Los Baños, and forming 4/5th of the poster background, is a dark gray, whitewashed picture. Brush strokes from a paint brush are visible upon the picture. The picture is of the “Hawaii boys” from World War II, and depicts 8 members of the Hawaiian boys facing the camera. Five of them are standing, with another three sitting in the foreground. The 2020 release consisted of 3 versions and was the fourth of the World War II Series of posters issued by DEOMI in commemoration of WWII, designed in retro 1940's style.
