Description: Arts + Crafts Sterling Silver Dish Click image to enlarge Description This gorgeous pedestal dish is hand-crafted from sterling silver. It is a wonderful example of Arts and Crafts design with the shallow bowl and foot having a beaten (planished) finish. The bowl is supported on three ‘C’-scroll legs of a stylised foliate design. It is hallmarked for London 1908 with the maker’s mark of the noted silversmiths, Goldsmiths & Silversmiths of Regent Street, London. This would be a superb dish for bonbons or trinkets or as a display piece. This piece is in lovely condition with no dents, dints or other signs of damage. The only thing to mention is that, when viewed from one of its three angles, there is a slight slope to the bowl as can be seen in the photos. However, I’ve checked the legs, the bowl and foot very carefully and can find no signs of damage that would cause this. I can only assume that it is an anomaly that results from the hand-crafting process. However, from 2 angles, the slope can’t be seen. Please be aware that, after 116 years, there will be some fine surface abrasions caused through handling.
