Collected in the early 1970s during an expedition through the rivers of the West Papua New Guinea Region and selected prior to New Guinean regulations limiting the export of art.Condition: This piece is one-of-a-kind, hand carved by Asmat Tribesmen. This artifact is in good condition it might exhibit signs of environmental exposure, insect degradation or utilitarian use, chips, natural wood splits, patina, polish from handling and repairs that are consistent with its age.
