It has been examined, and it looks like it has never been framed since it was produced in 1972. Rare, collectable and ready to frame. Beautiful conceptual work by the Sicilian masterCarmelo Cappello (Ragusa, 1912-Milan, 1996). He attended the Art School in Comiso. Thanks to a scholarship, he attended Marino Marini's courses at the Istituto Superiore in Monza. In 1937 he made his debut as a sculptor and the following year he held his first solo exhibition at the Bragaglia Gallery in Rome. In 1941 he consolidated his friendship with Gio Ponti, which was later transformed into close collaboration. He has participated many times in the Venice Biennale, the Quadrennial in Rome and the Triennial in Milan. In 1959 he was invited to Documenta 2 in Kassel. After his first figurative phase, struck by Moore's modern European sculpture, he passed from Tatlin's Russian Constructivism to the discoveries of the filtering space of Pevsner, Brancusi and Gabo: in his artistic career, these are the cultural matrices of his original declination of pure linear and volumetric rhythms, that constitute the fulcrum of his mature language.
