Firstly, it adds up to 28 dB of clean, low-noise gain, so its an ideal solution for low-output mics. Secondly, it offers variable impedance on both channels, so you can tailor the preamp response to each microphone for additional tonal flexibility. Thirdly, it shortens the distance between the mic and preamp. This lets you minimize interference and signal loss by sending balanced signals over long cable runs to your mixer or interface. The Dual RP runs on phantom power but does not pass it, so its safe to use with delicate ribbon mics. It also features a switchable high-pass filter on each channel that cuts low frequencies to remove rumble and tighten bass.
