Description: ART DECO SILVER PLATED TAZZA. JOHN DIXON & SONS LTD, SHEFFIELD. DATE: c.1925. This is an octagonal (8-sided) tazza or cake stand made of silver plate by the renowned Sheffield firm of James Dixon & Sons. The raised plate stands on a circular flared base and foot. Well marked to the underside and in excellent condition. Dimensions: Height - 11.0 cm. (4.3 inch.). Distance between flat sides on top Plate - 24.5 cm. (9.6 inch.). Diameter of Foot - 12.5 cm. (4.9 inch.). Weight: 780 grams. Marks: Stamped on the underside of the plate is 'EP' for Electroplated and 'J D & S' and the Trumpet with Banner mark for James Dixon & Sons alongside. Below is 'D 8 1 6' which probably relates to the model and possibly size. Condition: Very Good. A few marks to the top plate surface but otherwise there is no other damage and no repairs or restoration.
