There he met Piero Scaramal, from whom he first learned the secrets of the magic art that makes Murano well known as the capital of glass making. During the seven years spent with Scaramal, Raffaeli developed his skills and his personality, advancing step by step in the traditional career of a glass maker, from "garzone", the furnace boy, to "primo servente", a first level assistant. The second furnace Raffaeli worked at was also very famous, the Salviati's. There he experienced with different techniques, from glass blowing to "massiccio" glass, the working of a mass of glass that results in large, solid sculptures. In 1966 Raffaelli entered a new furnace, Briati's, where he became a glass master and realized the designs of Flavio Poli. Finally, together with his assistants and some friends, he decided to start a new adventure. It's the beginning of Ars Murano that in a very short time reached an enormous success with its sculptures, sold all over the world. Today Raffaeli, who has reached the higher point in his artistic career, can and must sign every single piece that he realizes. ________________________________________ ⭐ INVESTMENT: COLLECTIBLE ART GLASS ~ "AUTHENTICITY. Without that nothing else matters!" ~ A smart investment in art has for some time had a proven record of high return. But, it has been generally considered to be restricted to the wealthiest among us. In the world of hot, hand-blown/worked art glass, each piece is truly unique, and many pieces can be acquired at affordable figures for nearly everyone. If you appreciate the beauty of art, it can be a way to display and enjoy your investments. When considering art glass as an attractive investment, the primary consideration–aside from personal aesthetics–is essentially a work's prospective increase in monetary value–or APPRECIATION potential. Evaluating that potential always rests with four primary quality points: RARITY (supply), trending DESIRABILITY to collectors (demand), and CONDITION is an essential element, because even a small chip or deep scratch can (and will) make a literal world of difference in current and future value! So, please carefully inspect what you are buying and be sure to protect what you own! But, you may also feel more secure that your investment is not an attractive burglary target, due to its relative weight and vunerability to transport damage. When shopping look for a recognized signature, and/or an genuine original label, or buy a trustworthy attribution, because the fourth, and most important factor is AUTHENTICITY. Without that nothing else matters! ~ Copyright © 2022 OnMyWatch _______________________ Professionally packed, promptly shipped, guaranteed to please! Why trust OnMyWatch? 1. Any unusual white or yellow spots you may perceive on a photo are usually glare, due to our photographic technique, unless otherwise noted. If necessary for accuracy, we color-correct photos to match the actual item to our computer monitor--yours may vary. We try to show complex pieces in a variety of lighting conditions in an effort to exhibit the full range of the piece's actual appearance. Photos are NOT representative of actual size. Please view all high-resolution photographs--at 100%. Any other object is included for scale only. Close-up photos will always tend to show and exaggerate minor defects. Please keep this in mind: defects seen at 100% resolution may not even be visible to the naked eye! If you have questions please ask before bidding! NORMAL WEAR: Vintage or antique items will undoubtedly show minor signs of normal wear and/or patina. When we find exceptional wear, manufacturer's defects, damage and/or repairs, they will ALWAYS be noted in the description. Minor usage marks will not be remarkable. Pontil scar artifacts, usually on base (looks like a divot), is the remains of the normal scar and is recognized by collectors to not be damage. OPINION: Description and condition statements are always our opinion, based on our combined knowledge, experience, and research. Statements regarding maker, age, origin, etc. particularly on unmarked pieces, should be evaluated and confirmed by you the buyer, as you are the final judge. Though we are avid collectors, we are not experts on each item. If you know something we have omitted or misstated, please contact us to share. We strive for 100% accuracy! Your help is always welcome and appreciated! GLASS MASTERS: The alchemy of hot glass making is an art and complex craft involving the 1150°F heat of the glass furnace, age-old and newly developed techniques, tools, and proprietary chemical formulas to achieve the amazing art glass you'll see in our store. Master glass artist status is not achieved quickly or easily. Reaching that high level takes some 20 years of learning and honing the many, varied skills of the master glassblower. And, glassblowing is rarely done alone, but nearly always requires the teamwork of the gaffer's assistants to successfully produce this wonderful artwork!
