Description: The Armenia 500 Dram Banknote from 2017 was issued to commemorate the Noahs Ark, the vessel that supposedly saved Noahs family and all of the worlds animals from a biblical flood before coming to rest atop Mount Ararat in modern-day Armenia. Its obverse side features a green-to-gold Rolling Star LEAD reliquary with Noahs Ark fragment, a Friedrich Parrots woodcut of Etchmiadzin Cathedral building, the back part of Mount Ararat, the Noahs Ark as the registration device, and a gold-to-green SPARK Live flying dove with an olive branch in its beak. The reverse side features the Mount Ararat as seen from Chor Virap Monastery, animals and birds flanking Noahs family from Jacob Carolsfelds Noah Leaving the Ark woodcut and a flying eagle. The note is 140 x 76 mm in size and is equipped with a Gold-to-green Galaxy windowed security thread with demetalized AMD 500 to enhance its security features. Placing the note under a UV light would show an image of Noahs Ark and electrotype 500.
