Bruckner, well known for rewriting compositions, often many times, used new material and pieces of his 2nd symphony to compose his 3rd symphony, a tribute to Richard Wagner. Symphony No.4, "Romantic", in Eb major - Berlin Philharmonic, Herbert von Karajan - A 1971 recording digitally remastered and released in 1985 by EMI. Symphony No.5 in Bb major - Berlin Philharmonic, Daniel Barenboim directing. A 1992 release from Teldec. Symphony No.7 in E major - Radio Symphony Orchestra, Berlin, Riccardo Chailly. 1985, Decca/london Symphony No.8 in C minor - Weiner Philharmoniker, Herbert von Karajan, DG. A 1989 release on 2 CDs. One of his best known and a lengthy powerhouse at over 82 minutes. Symphony No.9 in D minor - The Cleveland Orchestra under Christoph von Dohnanyi. A 1989 release from Decca/London.
