Description: Antique/Vintage Victorian Christmas Tree Stand Feather Tree North Bros. Phila. Condition is "Used". Offered for sale is an authentic antique Victorian Christmas tree stand circa 1900. The tree stand is made of solid cast iron by the company "NORTH BROS. MFG. CO. PHILADA. PA. U.S.A. PAT. APPL'D FOR" as identified in raised lettering on the outside diameter of stand. The stand is predominantly black with gilt/gold painted legs and tightening ring. As part of researching this item I found that the North Bros. ran an iron foundry in Philadelphia in the late 1800’s to mid 20th century. The stand has 3 holding jaws. When a tree is placed in the stand, one would turn the outer ring that would simply tighten the jaws against the tree trunk, holding it securely in place. Although there has been some minor original paint loss over the last 100 years, the stand is in excellent condition and measures approximately 10” inches tall. This is a beautiful antique tree stand that would look fabulous holding your next Christmas tree.
