Description: this is a wonderful antique oil painting depicting a New England winter scene where the viewer is seeing an orange-colored twilight in the background of the painting where the viewer is in the woods peering through some trees over a narrow stream at dense woods far in the background - there is a light snow cover on the ground & the orange-colored setting sun rays are reflected on the surface of the stream by the talented artist who signed the painting as "W. Holman" in the left lower corner of the painting - the painting was done in a realistic style on an Academy Board which was a typical type of artistic platform for oil paintings done from about the 1870's until the 1920's - the painting measures 18" x 12" sight size, & is in very good antique condition - it is well-enhanced by its original gilded wooden frame which measures 24" x 18", & is also in very good antique condition - in summary, the painting with its wonderful frame & beautiful winter colors is a very well presented antique artistic work -
