Description: This beautiful wax-over dates to the 1800s and has been in my possession for fifty plus years. It is as found. There has not been any restoration to the head, but has typical age crazing as found in most untouched up wax dolls of this age. She wears a beautifully handsewn mourning black dress with white lace cap. The body is original with the exception of a patch on one leg which was done before I purchased it. What is unique is the hands have gray gloves painted on as well as the high boots. There are a few small scrapes on the paint, but at an age of 140 years plus/minus, it is to be expected. Her underpants/slip/waist band are also all original and cotton. The dress is taffeta with no noticeable damage. I have certainly enjoyed her, and you will too. Thanks for looking.
