Description: Antique MASON'S PATENT NOV. 30th, 1858 Aqua Blue Pint Size Canning Jar w/ Zinc Mason Brand Screw On Lid - 5.75" Tall This jar has sat with others on a pantry shelf for many years, no longer being used for food preservation, but for display. I don't collect antique jars, but I did have quite a display of antique kitchen primitives and crocks that the jars I am selling displayed with beautifully. Therefore, I can't tell you much more than what I see as I haven't researched them or actively collected them. I purchased them originally for their aesthetics, old age, and design if they were not the run of the mill Mason or Ball jars that I used all the time for canning. This jar has the usual inconsistencies of tiny bubbles, straw marks, light rub wear, etc. All faults I believe are expected in old utilitarian glass. There is some inner edge roughness, scant chipping that appears to be from being cut from the mold during the manufacturing process. No cracks. It does have a Mason brand screw on old zinc lid that is in good condition without rust and screws on easily. Please see all photos to complete description. Shipping: USPS with tracking, insurance. Very carefully packaged with lots of paper and extra cardboard around it. Thanks for Looking!
