Description: This fine Makah or Nootka basket came to us in a collection of antique Northwest Coast Indian baskets. It features a multi-colored Greek key design on its sides along with bands of red and charcoal. The lid has a central 11 pointed star surrounded with another band of A Greek Key design (in yellow and charcoal) along with more borders in red and charcoal. The basket is 4.4" in diameter and 2.5" tall. It has a beautifully plaited cedar bark base. The delicately faded colors of the borders and designs on the exterior of the basket are brilliantly unfaded on the interior. It dates to the 1920's or earlier. Stock Number SA2D-357
