This is an authentic antique gilt decorated ironstone sink basin dating back to around 1890/1900. This exquisite sink was manufactured by J & MP Bell and Company specifically for DEE and DELEREE in New York which was one of the companies tasked with outfitting the new modernized bathrooms in the White House in the early 1900's. By the time the White House was going under complete renovations in the 1950's this sink was removed from the 2nd floor of the white house and has been stored within the Virginia Beach, VA estate of Harry Damron that worked as a higher up in the pentagon. Provenance: - Marked on the bottom: "Removed from White House, March 1950 remodel, Harry Truman." - Acquired from a family collection in Va Beach, Virginia that inherited it from their grandfather, Harry Damron, who worked for the Pentagon Ca.1940-1970. Condition: - Guaranteed authentic from the early 1900's and removed from the White House During the 1950's remodel. - Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. - Features heavy crazing throughout, along with very minor discolorations and light losses to the gold gilt and blue decoration. - This authentic sink is museum-quality and would be a unique addition to any collection— guaranteed authentic.
