Description: Antique VICTORIAN Chromolithograph QUEEN OF FLOWERS, P.O. Vickery, Augusta ME Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE FRAMED VICTORIAN PRINT Large and striking antique framed under glass Victorian color chromolithograph print on textured paper titled "QUEEN OF FLOWERS" by P. O. Vickery, Augusta, Maine. Dating 1880s or so, it features a young girl in lace cap and blue gown holding a vibrantly colored bouquet of flowers including Bleeding Heart. Measuring about 24-1/4" tall and 19-1/4" wide, wood frame is beautifully detailed in gesso with coiling, beading, swirls, and cross-hatching - glass appears to be original with a few tiny cased bubbles. Condition is lovely with no tears, holes, or damage to the print other than a faint stain on the top of her head cover - bottom center is marked "PUBLISHED FOR P.O. VICKERY, AUGUSTA, ME". Frame has typical rubs, nicks and a few small areas of gesso loss - looks like it bears very old repainting as I can see a trace dot or two of gold paint on the glass - but the frame has burnished to a muted bronze color - back retains original wood panel. Just a large, charming antique image - colorful and lovely - perfect for display! Sold as is - due to the size, no returns - priced with the shipping costs in mind.
