The beaded needlework is done with glass seed beads and wool thread bordered with deep purple velvet. A lovely design with colorful homes, walkway, and a tree, in solid colored glass beads, from various shades of green, to black to brown, blue and mustard. circa 1854's, civil war beadwork. worked into a hand done natural dyed wool thread needlepoint ground. All are all hand sewn beadwork. Dated 1854 on back as pictured. Beautiful and uncommon to find from this time period and in this length and condition. ConditionA decorative beadwork period piece in very good, as found condition from an early country farmhouse estate auction. This Victorian beading has very few small areas of bead loss scattered about. Still this needlework art panel is very stable as it is for its age of 166+ years. Overall in very good antique condition with wear normal for age, no fading, no stains, no discolorations or repairs. As found. I am sure this was once framed, but this is how I acquired it. Dated 1854 on back as pictured. The round micro beads are all glass and all hand sewn. Skillfully done with 22 beads per inch.
