Description: We're not entirely sure of the original use of this huge copper vessel. An auctioneer friend who specializes in primitives thinks it's simply a still pot. We've found one similar vessel offered elsewhere online (at $385) which claims theirs is French. The construction of ours appears American late 19th Century/early 20th Century. This came to us from a private collection in Colorado. The vessel weighs just under 15 lbs, copper body with iron rings and iron chain. Body and neck are each single wrapped pieces with a single seam. Total height including chain is 48 inches. The bottom part of the vessel measures 19 inches wide x about 10 1/2 inches across, x 12 inches high. The neck is 7 inches, high with 6 3/4 inch diameter. Total height of the vessel is 21 inches with the chain being another 27 inches. Various drip marks from use, a few bumps and minor bends, the photos accompanying this listing are an integral part of the condition of this vessel which is in good antique condition. We do not clean or restore antiques such as this. This is a large heavy item which will incur significant shipping costs. Shipping costs are set my the carrier, not us. We offer two shipping options on this item as one may be less than the other depending on your location. All items ship insured. We pack professionally in boxes adequately sized to assure your purchase reaches you in the condition it leaves our store--see our Customer Reviews.
