Description: Antique Tiffany Style Dome Grape Vine Shade In Style Of Albert Sechrist Colorado. This is a large stained glass hanging dome (24” in Diameter) in a grape vine pattern. I am not an expert in stained glass lighting but have a lifetime of experience around antiques here is the reasoning I believe it is antique and not a modern reproduction. 1. It has the whisper or the rattle, when hanging and you tap it you can hear the glass rattle , this can be a sign of age. A modern shade will feel almost as if you are tapping on plastic because the glass and the leading is still tight. 2. The leading on the outside displayed in photos is extremely neat, narrow half rounds. Modern shades are usually much sloppier. 3. Inside of shade leading also very neatly done. 4. Glass is slightly thinner than in modern shades. Albert Sechrist is a guess based on other shades for sale that have a similar pattern. Cap seems to be original, chain and light sockets look to have been replaced. Overall in very good condition. I purchased this shade from an antique dealer who had purchased it from an auction selling items from a local T.G.I.Fridays in business before the mid 80s when Fridays started using some reproductions. Before the mid 80s they purchased almost entirely real antiques from pickers all over the country. I am selling this shade at a reasonable price.
