All surfaces are corroded and soiled from decades in an attic. I plugged it in and nothing happened for a minute or more. Then it started smoking ... a lot! And the smell of -- what else -- burnt toast filled a couple of rooms. So I definitely suggest you not plug it in unless you have a qualified electrician look at and clean it first. The toast-holding doors do seem to work as designed, opening and rotating to "flip" the side being toasted. Please see the photos to judge for yourself. 9" tall, 7.5" across the face and 4" deep.
