The iron rust layer shows age, but the standardized dimensions implies a vintage or newer tsuba and not an antique one. Also, the rust has no pitting or deep cavities.Figures appear to be birds or sea beasts on water.Only one side has lacquer on it. We do not know if that was original, as some use lacquer, or if it is recent such as used on a display board. Used, as-is. Oxidized. Some wear and scratches. Has not been fitted for different sized blades (no center hole hammering or plugs). Reverse side has an adhesive or lacquer on it. See attached pictures.
