Description: Lovely little antique repousse silver vanity mirror with a cupid motif from Shreve and Company. I love, in particular, the little loop handle as compared to so many other hand mirrors with those long skinny handles! It takes up less room on the vanity and is more unusual than those normally found. The piece is about 5 inches wide and about 7.25 inches long. It weighs about 208 grams (weights may vary by scale). It has dings and dents normal for a piece over 100 years old, but it polished up really nicely so you can see all of the cherubic details! There is a deeper ding on the bottom of the handle. The beveled mirror part, though secure, is a little wonky as it sits more to one side than the other. There is a very slight fading of the silvering on the mirror. In addition to the sweet inscription "Eugenie Pichon", barely visible on the carved side, also present are the Shreve & Co. stamp, the 925 stamp, the Shreve & CO mark, and the numbers 5000. Some other markings are barely visible as they've worn off over time. I've enhanced the brightness of the photos to show these markings as best possible.
