Circa 1890-1910This Rocking chair is a great old wood-I think oak or mahoghany. It would be perfect for a nursing chair or to use in a Victorian home. The back is very thick and deeply carved. Nostalgic feelings of yesteryear , aged with grace. It has nice wood spindle turnings and is comfortable .The chair has a nice curved crest - Winged curves and the individually turned spindles rest comfortably across your back. It needs to be sanded- its worn but very comfortable and still has more years of use-- as I am not a furniture expert check out photos for details,some scuffiing, --may be minor seperation in joints - I began to strip it to reveal the handsome wood- It's easy to refinish!
