The left features two women washing clothes in the river just outside a wooden building. The right features a woman climbing a ladder up to a dovecot, while another woman leans over a bridge. This original print originates from a work by Basan: 'Dictionnaire des graveurs anciens et modernes depuis l'origine de la gravure', published in Paris in 1767, and again in 1789. This work contained numerous engravings, some of which were copies made by Basan, others original plates.. It was published by Basan in 1761.Artists and Engravers: Artist: Isodore-Stanislas Helman.
