Description: Antique cobalt decorated stoneware jug. Impressed ‘2’ mark on front under mouth. Large & bold cobalt 'bird on branch' decoration across front. Attributed to a Poughkeepsie, N.Y. potter (likely Philip Riedinger and Adam Caire) based on decoration. Sourced in the Hudson Valley, N.Y.. 'As Found / As Pictured' antique condition. Glaze, surface & firing imperfections inherent to production. No cracks or chips. Appears to have been used as a lamp with some type of weighting material (less than 1") present in interior base.
