There are 52 playing cards plus 1 joker (Father Pitt) as wellas a card with the current or nearly current factsand demographics of Pittsburgh. This deck of cards was from the early 1900's ...The card listing facts and demographics shows the populationfor 1909 - so they must have been printed after this date. The official spelling of what is now Pittsburgh used to be "Pittsburg"until 1911 or so ... the spelling without an "h" is used onthe box that holds the cards, the card of facts and demographicsuses the current spelling... while the photographs on the cards have examples of both spellings. The box holding the cards shows a good bit of wear - mostly to the edges and corners ... especially at the opening where the inner box slides into the outer box.The cards themselves appear to be unused or very seldom used. The gold edges are still shiny. The most wear that I found was on the card with the facts/info., which was at the top of the pileand likely rubbed against the inner box.Some minor small dark specks on other cards that I did nottry to remove.
