Description: Up for bid is an antique Pittsburgh reverse and obverse painted lamp. The 18" chipped ice shade is reverse and obverse painted with a beautiful country scene with farmers with their herd of cattle. As shown in the pictures there is a large scene with a man with his herd of cattle and also a smaller scene with a farmer on a horse with his animals. The shade is free of any chips, cracks or repairs. This shade sits on a fabulous bulbous type base that has great patina and stands a whopping 25" tall. It is equipped with 3 original P & S ( Pass & Seymour) pull chain sockets. It is signed on the weight plate P.L.B. & G. CO 2200. This is a lamp that is mot seen for sale very often. It is in working condition, wear commensurate with age. It has been rewired at sometime with a brown cloth period cord and old plug. I have listed a picture of this lamp from the reference book Better Electric Lamps of the 20's and 30"s. This lamp will be packed by UPS. Please check all wiring after shipping before using for safety reason. Please view all the pictures and ask ANY and ALL questions prior to bidding. Don't leave ANY questions unanswered if you have any. I have many other Pittsburgh lamps and bases so if you are looking for a particular lamp or base let me know and I'll try to get it listed. READ THE SHIPPING DISCLOSURE BELOW.SHIPPING WILL BE $150 TO ZIP CODES BEGINNING WITH THE NUMBER , 1,2. 3 AND 4. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVOICE. I NEED TO GET YOUR ZIP CODE TO ADJUST YOUR INVOICE. SHIPPING COST HAVE REALLY GONE UP. Good Luck!! 476 SHIPPING DISCLOSURE I have tried my best to keep shipping cost low but the rates just keep getting higher and higher. I ship using the U. S Postal Service as I find them the safest shipper. The shipping cost to the Midwest and far west is so much more than what I have to deal with here in the Northeast. I have struggled with doing this as I didn't want to lose my bidders/buyers west of me but it just adds up to too much money in the long run. Please understand I do this very reluctantly, as such, I am adding 20% to anything being shipped to zip codes that begin with the number 5,6 or 7 and 33% to anything being shipped to zip codes 8 and 9. Example $150.00 regular shipping cost to zip code that begin with 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 is just that $150.00. Zip codes that begin with 5,6 or 7 would be $150.00 times 20% which equals $30.00 which is added to the $150.00 and becomes $180.00. Zip codes that begin with 8 or 9 would be $150.00 times 33% which is $49.50 which then becomes $199.50. Your invoice will be adjusted to your zip code. I double box the shade and ship the base separately. Please consider this when you are bidding and thanks for understanding. TO ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS Bidders please remember that I am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. These items are commensurate with age, meaning they are old. Chances are if there aren't any, it's a newer item and you shouldn't want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I really don't want to do a refund because the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isn't perfect on a 2,000.00 lamp. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. It seems the more experienced an antique dealer or buyer is, the more understanding of condition they are. That being said, if you think you're going to be a difficult buyer because you want perfection in a 100 year old piece, please purchase another Ebay seller's product. Ebay has made it very difficult for sellers in the past few years yet I'm a good seller who wants to be fair and all I ask for is a fair buyer to do business with. Thanks for your understanding.
