Description: Antique Ornate Cast Iron Polychrome Markel Wall Light Wall Sconce ~ This is a Gorgeous 1930s cast iron wall sconce that has M.E.P.I stamped into the mold for Markel Electrical Products Inc. It also has what appears to read B 521 with a 2 stamped into the mold on the back as well.However, the numbers are hard to read so please see pictures and use your judgment. It measures approximately 11'' high by 4'' wide with a 4'' projection from the wall. It is in good antique condition with a great patina. There is some paint flaking as shown in the photos. The wiring will need to be updated to comply with today's safety standards. This light fixture would be gorgeous stripped and repainted to bring out all the details of this fixture. There is no damage or previous repairsnoted on the fixture. The cardboard tube is a bit rough and will likely need replaced. Antique lighting during this period was designed to be a piece of art.
