Description: Please see item description ANTIQUE OIL PAINTING Welsh Romantic Landscape By WILLIAM LANGLEY Country Cottage Click images to enlarge Description Charming Oil Painting "A Welsh Cottage Home" By William Langley Act 1880-192 Highly decorative later Victorian painting by this well collected artist who spent a considerable amount of time painting in Wales, Scotland and the Home Counties of England. Langley's early paintings, like this example, are of high Victorian romance and often are sold for thousands of dollars (including some examples currently on ebay). Age- c1885 Size- 19 by 27.5 inches approx including frame, canvas 16 by 24 inches approx Medium- Oils on canvas Frame- Later wooden frame, some knocks and losses, offered free with the painting. Condition- We would be very happy to hang this one as found. It is in pretty good condition given its age. There is however a little varnish browning, craqueleur and bar marks in places and some light uneveness to the canvas surface. Signature- Lower left, old inscription verso.
