Antique Oil Painting 19th Century William Tells Chapel Lake Lucerne Glass Pane

Description: Extraordinary Vintage Landscape Oil Painting is estimated 19th Century depicting William Tells Chapel on Lake Lucerne with Uri Rotstock Mountain in the background located in Switzerland. Painted on Glass Panel Pane with Beveled Edge. A very faint signature can be seen in lower right corner. Similar paintings are attributed to 19th century Austrian born artist Hubert Sattler or “after Hubert Sattler” but the maker of this piece cannot be confirmed due to signature being illegible. Piece measures approximately 10”x10” overall including 1/2” bevel, with the painted image measuring 9”x9”. Antique preowned item is a one-of-a-kind original (OOAK) painting. It is painted on the front of the glass - not a reverse painting. It has patina of age that confirms its authenticity. This includes: — some minor paint loss mostly around edges but one of the windows on the chapel has a good bit of paint missing. This is not noticeable unless looking for it because of the paper backing. SEE BELOW AND SEE PICS — a few rough spots around the outer edges of the glass panel — there is some minor grime on the glass beveled edge from fingerprints, dust and storage. Nothing that detracts from function or beauty. I will let buyer decide if they want to clean the edges or leave as found. It comes with an old, low profile brass hanger that was already very sturdily attached when found, making it ready to hang in your home. The back of the glass panel has a sheet of very old brown paper glued to it. This appears to be an original characteristic. It is firmly attached but has some wear mostly around the edges.
