Description: This late 19th-century/early 20th-century antique Nippon moriage ewer features a beautifully hand-painted motif of delicate pink roses and green leaves set against a white background. The rose pattern is complemented by a gold decorative moriage motif on the front and sides, along with violets on the neck and base with gold moriage borders. The piece is marked with Van Patten's #52 blue maple leaf mark used by the Morimura Brothers Import company from 1891 until 1911. The piece measures 5.5" (13.97 cm) tall and is 15" (38.1 cm) in diameter at its widest point. The ewer is in good condition. It is free of chips or cracks. There is some loss to the gold paint on the mouth and handle. Please note that antique items may have slight color variations and signs of wear that may not be fully captured in photos.
