Description: Antique Nippon 19th Century Porcelain Vase Lamp Hand Painted Roses Gold Moriage. Based on the style I am thinking most likely early Japanese made. The bottom has no import marks so it pre-dates the McKinley tariff act of 1890. Measures about 20" high to top of finial; the porcelain part alone is about 9 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide. It weighs 4 pounds 10 ounces and feels quite hefty. Beautiful hand painted roses and flowers with magnificent raised gold decorations moriage type. Was probably made as a vase and converted to a lamp but it was converted a long time ago and works fine. The only issue is the base has a few spider type age lines. No chips or otherwise noteworthy cracks. Please see my 12 detailed photos.
