Antique New York Central Railroad Lines Silver Menu Holder Pierced Style R&B

Description: This is a silver plated dining car table menu holder madefor the New York Central Railroad between 1914 and 1935, the period when it used "Lines" in its name. It is the "filigree" or pierced, older style holder. Made by Reed & Barton. It is very nicely marked on the underside (See our pictures). IMPORTANT: PLEASE SEE OUR PICTURES.This is in very good condition but does show age and use. The silver plating is very bright, strong and good overall, with NO "black" tarnish areas and no plate loss on the upright sides, which are almost (but 'not quite') perfectly straight. The feet show surface wear and nicks from use in the plating.The base does not sit quite perfectly flat on the table. One of the feet did not come off BUT was loose, and has been repaired/resoldered to the upright part. This really doesn't show very well until you get it closer than arm's length and look for it.
