Description: ANTIQUE Framed Napoleon Bonaparte Pope Catholic Fontainebleau Photogravure PRINT DATED June 9, 1828 Thank you for checking out my listing. This would make a wonderful gift or a great addition to any art collection! Shows normal antique wear for its age, use and storage. It is almost 200 years old!! There is some slight water damage, on the matting only, just under the signature area and at the lower right hand corner (see photos). The frame shows wear as well as there is wear to the backing paper (see photo). The matting can be changed out if you choose to do that. The original artist is: DAVID WILKIE (As far as I know the print has not been taken out of the framing so I don't know if David Wilkie has signed it). Measurements:11½" H x 8⅜" W inset22" H. x 18" W overallGlazed in black painted wood frame. The photogravure is a high-quality print that uses a photograph or negative to etch an image on to a metal plate, then prints it with ink on to paper. This process dates back centuries.
