Description: This is an antique Japanese Hannya mask depicting an Oni demon. The mask is made of either white jade or marble, and is of museum quality. The Hannya mask is a traditional Japanese Noh theater mask, representing a jealous female demon. The Oni demon is a popular figure in Japanese folklore, often depicted as a malevolent spirit. This mask is a unique and valuable piece of Asian art and history. This came from an estate sale here in Hawaii 25 plus years ago. I purchased 20k worth of Asian antiques and artwork that I proudly displayed in my tattoo shops over the years. Never seen another like it and it’s very unique and was either used for a pendant or even a belt or strap accessory. It’s been sitting in my display case for all these years.
