Description: Exceptional Victorian Art Glass biscuit jar by Pairpoint/Mt. Washington Glass MFG. The jar is milk glass with 'puffy' raised bottom border and is colored to resemble peach blow and then hand enameled with decorative chrysanthemum blossoms. The top is framed with a round silver plated collar that supports its ornate swing handle and silver plate lid. The underside of the lid has the Pairpoint mark (P inside a diamond) and the number 3930. The bottom of the jar is marked with the same number 3930 and a second number 232. The collar is slightly loose from the jar but is not detached...I suggest NOT lifting the piece by the handle...it will make the issue worse over time. There is no other damage and the top & handle have bare minimum silver loss. This is a fine example of late 19thC Art Glass from the famous New Bedford, MA glass houses. I offer special finds that are antique or vintage in age. I try to describe them to the best of my knowledge. Please send along any questions before bidding. I only accept returns if we mutually agree that the item has been mis-identified or insufficiently described. If you prefer a different shipping method than stated, please contact me.
