Description: I found this with my mother's things after she passed. I have no knowledge of it's history with her. Based on the brand on the back of the neck I have determined it is a Morimura Brothers doll originally from Japan. Most were imported to the U.S. in the early 1900s when the war prevented German dolls from being imported. Hair is a little stiff but still in ringlets. She's got a bit of "bed head" where she's lain on her back for years. Face is bisque / porcelain and painted. Eyes appear to be glass - no moveable eyelids or eyelashes. Mouth is slightly open and there appear to be 4 teeth in the upper jaw. Forearms may also be some sort of bisque or plastic. Upper arms, torso and legs are some sort of sturdy fabric, maybe canvas or leather? The feet are a softer fabric and appear to be crudely stitched on the bottom - or maybe that's just how they were? Given her age, she's in good shape. Needs a good wipe down and I'm sure she'd appreciate a new dress, maybe a trip to the hair salon. The stitching on the dress almost indicates it was handmade by a novice. See photos for more details. Ask any questions and I'll try and provide answers.
