Description: Beautiful egg cruet set from the late 19th century - has everything! The stand is "quadruple plated" and features a carry stand for the shakers, spoons and egg cups. Made by the Meriden B. (Brittannia) Company between 1852 and 1898 in Meriden, Connecticut. In 1898, the Meriden B. Co. merged with International Silver. The Meriden mark is impressed in the underside of the stand. The egg cups are very unique, with a jagged rim design and are mounted firmly on the base by a 1/2" high silver peg that fits into the bottom of each cup. Also included are two EPNS plated spoons which hang on the handle. Salt and pepper shakers, crafted with a coin drop design in amberina glass are seated on either side of the handle. This is a very unique set, one which I have not seen before, and I believe to be quite rare. It will make a beautiful addition to any collection. Set stands 8" at handle.
