Description: This is a wonderful antique 1 gallon merchant stoneware jug. It is stamped "Root Beer Syrup S & H Manufactured by SIMMONS & HAMMOND Portland, Maine." It has directions for making beer as well. It is incised on bottom underside base with initials "J.S." & having its original cork still intact.
