NEWBURGH NY FEB 1906' WALL MAP MANUSCRIPT This is really a wonderful original. I acquired this map with the early map of Orange and Rockland Counties that is available in my store. I took a little longer to figure out what this map was because I could not find another example of it. This is not a printed map but rather a map manuscript done in in ink and colored pen on paper measuring 50 x 65 1/2 inches. The paper has been laid on linen to preserve it. This was done when it was created in the early 1900s. Original rails. Map is in overall good condition with some chipping along the top with some minor loss. The rest of the map is in very good condition with some toning and a few minor spots. The map is clear and the original colors are vibrant. It lists all the land owners who created this private retreat for city livers like was going on in Tuxedo NY. In the end this property turned into what is now the major part of Cornwall NY. You can find much more on the history of the town and how this area was created in the history of Cornwall. Do your own research on this map. A one of a kind piece of history.
