Description: RARE VINTAGE KEYCHAIN FOB KEY ID TAG DOG TAG IOOF INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS I.O.O.F IOOF These date back to about late the 1890's to early 1900's. They were primarily used as key tags, key fobs, identification tags, luggage & trunk tags, dog collar tags. Their main purpose was to return lost keys and other important items back to their rightful owners. If you're reading this ad you already know how rare these fobs are. The fact they are blank and not engraved make them even rarer. I.O.O.F - Independent Order of Odd Fellows. FLT - Friendship, Love and Truth. Made out of nickel-silver also called German silver. Nickel silver is stronger and more expensive than brass. And, it doesn't tarnish as much as brass. Back in the day manufacturers chose nickel-silver over brass for higher quality items like these fobs. These look gorgeous and resemble sterling silver. Perfect for stamping or engraving.
